Trainer-Compliance Administrator

Silver Stem Fine Cannabis is a fast growing chain of marijuana dispensaries with six locations in Colorado and Oregon with plans to open four new locations within the next year.

Compliance portion of the position is responsible for every facility to operate within the policies, procedures and regulations set forth by a company, local, state and federal laws. Compliance officer protects assets by completing regular audits and recommending improvements in internal control structure. Trainer portion of the position is responsible to evaluate and enhance training programs to maximize revenue goals and staff development. Research new training methods and determine feasibility to use.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Compliance

• Adhere to company mission statement and core values and maintains high ethical standards and professionalism in all business interactions

• Ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation; recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure

• Communicate audit progress and findings by preparing reports; provide information to the management team

• Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for resolution

• Support external auditors by coordinating information requirements

• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Understand and adhere to existing operational procedure and policies to ensure compliance proficiency

• Other duties may be assigned

 

Trainer

 

• Understand the complexity of compliance requirements including the following types of regulatory agencies: Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED), Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDEPHE), Fire Department, City Zoning and Planning.

• Ensure maximum effectiveness of sales and service goals by developing, implementing, and conducting company training programs

• Conduct training on and off site to both entry level groups and management groups

• Manage and organize training sessions

• Administration of transcripts and training records

• Assure all staff completes onboarding and ongoing training programs

• Understand and adhere to existing operational procedure and policies to ensure compliance proficiency

• Other duties may be assigned

 

 

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

- High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in any field preferred

 

Training

- Must maintain current knowledge and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and Total Management Inc.

 

Required Skills & Experience

 

- Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements

- Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities

- Familiar with industry concepts, practices, and procedures

- Experienced with Flowhub, Metric and Paylocity software

- Excellent computer troubleshooting, mathematical, language, problem solving and reasoning skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point and Microsoft Excel

- Strong organization, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail

- Bilingual skills a plus

- Positive attitude, cooperative nature and self-motivated

 

Preferred Skills & Experience

- Retail, operations, training and management experience is a plus

- Simplifiya compliance software experience

Work Requirements

- Must be able to work in retail facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions. May require use of safety equipment or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as needed

- Must be able to acquire MED Key Badge prior to beginning employment

- Must be able to individually lift 50 lbs. without assistance

- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach and lift for extended periods of time
