US Marijuana Laws by State 2020
Cannabis is a growing industry in the U.S. Each year with more and more states moving towards legalization of marijuana.
Some states have come really close to being “fully legal cannabis states” whereas some have a long way to go.
One of the biggest steps is decriminalization. What does it mean? It means that a state sets up a maximum amount of cannabis you can possess for personal use as well as penalties for the first and subsequent offenses.
This table is to help you not to break the law in case when you are travelling to different states.
There are only seven states with “fully illegal” status about cannabis law. Most of the states support using cannabis in different forms for medical purposes. Each state has its own list of medical issues when cannabis can be prescribed by a doctor.
If you are in the state with a “fully legal” cannabis status and want to use online resources for marijuana shopping, please be aware of rules and regulations of each state. For example in Colorado you can order cannabis at Silver Stem but delivery is not possible. You can pick up your order at our various locations across the state.
As you know, laws are changing fast. Make sure to check online resources to be up to date.
We researched the current situation with cannabis legalization in the U.S. to make your cannabis shopping as easy as possible. The information below is provided as of June 2020.
And keep in mind - you can not transport any amount of cannabis across state lines or have it on you on federal land, since cannabis is still listed as a banned substance on federal level.
