Some states have come really close to being “fully legal cannabis states” whereas some have a long way to go.

One of the biggest steps is decriminalization. What does it mean? It means that a state sets up a maximum amount of cannabis you can possess for personal use as well as penalties for the first and subsequent offenses.

There are only seven states with “fully illegal” status of cannabis. Most of the states allow using cannabis in different forms for medical purposes. Each state has its own list of medical issues when cannabis can be prescribed by a doctor.
