US Marijuana Laws by State 2020
Cannabis is a growing industry in the U.S. with more and more states moving towards legalization of marijuana each year.
Some states have come really close to being “fully legal cannabis states” whereas some have a long way to go.
One of the biggest steps is decriminalization. What does it mean? It means that a state sets up a maximum amount of cannabis you can possess for personal use as well as penalties for the first and subsequent offenses.
This table is meant to help you avoid breaking the law when you are travelling throughout the States.
There are only seven states with “fully illegal” status of cannabis. Most of the states allow using cannabis in different forms for medical purposes. Each state has its own list of medical issues when cannabis can be prescribed by a doctor.
If you are in the state with a “fully legal” cannabis status and want to use online resources for marijuana shopping, please beware of rules and regulations of each state. For example in Colorado you can order cannabis at a dispensary like Silver Stem but there is no delivery. You will need to pick up your order at one of our locations across the state.
As you know, laws are changing fast. Make sure to check the latest news on the subject.
We looked into the current situation with cannabis legalization in the U.S. to make your cannabis shopping as convenient as possible. The information below is provided as of June 2020.
And keep in mind - you can not transport any amount of cannabis across state lines or have it in your possession on federal land, since cannabis is still listed as a banned substance at a federal level.
