Pride Month 2021: What to Know About the Celebration
June is a month of pride when the world's LGBTQ communities come together and celebrate the freedom to be themselves.
Why do We Celebrate Pride Month?
Every year, throughout June, numerous events are held around the world to show the impact of LGBTQ community. The LGBTQ Pride Month commemorates the riots at Stonewall that occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, pride parades and other related events are held throughout the month.
What does PRIDE Stand for?
PRIDE is an acronym for Personal Rights in Defense and Education. The organization was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1966 by Steve Ginsburg.
