Blue Cheese Review - A Gourmet Strain

A closer look at an exciting indica hybrid that is a must have for cannabis enthusiasts.

Genetics

Blue Cheese is an indica dominant hybrid which is a result of crossing the finest Blueberry and UK Cheese. The strain quickly spread around the world and received Best Indica Cup from High Times. Blue Cheese inherited the best traits of both “parents” and has always been at the top of the list of any cannabis connoisseur.

Smell and Flavor

It is a unique and peculiar strain in terms of flavor. The fruity cheese aroma starts to develop at the flowering stage and the cured flower’s smell is engulfing. It’s an exciting pungent mix of sweet and musk. When smoked the stronger pepper notes prevail over the sweet.

Growing

This strain is a great way to hone your basic skills. It is easy to grow, and can even be cultivated outdoors, though it is not a preferred method.

Blue Cheese is bushy like all indicas and grows upwards of about 55 inches. It flowers anywhere from 7 to 10 weeks, and produces a rather high yield. Keep in mind that this strain has an overabundance of leaves, which should be trimmed to allow for more light reaching the flowers.

Appearance

The leaves of the Blue Cheese plant are light green with copper pistils, and lots of white trichomes. The buds are very dense, and hard to break up, so a grinder will come in handy.

Effects and Conditions

The indica part is responsible for the body high and mellow, without the couch lock. It’s uplifting and even euphoric without being mind numbing. All in all a great strain for when you want to liven up doing routine or monotonous work or just unwind a bit during the weekend.

Blue Cheese is great at handling symptoms of arthritis. It is also known to help with gastrointestinal disorders, loss of appetite and anorexia. Its sativa part will help greatly if you have trouble sleeping, and relieve you of stress and migraines.

The strain is mild and has a rather low THC content of about 17%, which results in virtually no adverse effects, apart from mildly dry mouth and eyes. This makes a great strain for beginners and those prone to paranoia.

To Sum Up

If you are looking for something special in terms of flavor, something mild in terms of the high, and just a booster to get you through a boring day - Blue Cheese is just the strain for you. And it is also one of those that every enthusiast should keep in their store.
