HTFSE - High Terpene Full Spectrum Extract. Quick Guide

There are dozens of different cannabis concentrates out there with new ones appearing every year.

Our focus for today is High Terpene Full Spectrum Extract.

What Is a High Terpene Full Spectrum Extract?

High Terpene Full Spectrum Extract or HTFSE is a cannabis concentrate focused on terpenes rather than cannabinoids and is made with the eye on preserving the whole range of the chemical compounds found in the marijuana flower. It is often referred to as terp sauce due to its texture and appearance.

The high terpene extracts contain around 50% THCa which turns into THC when dabbed, which is lower than the more concentrates like wax, shatter, and so on. On the other hand they contain anywhere from 13% and up to 40% terpenes, compared to 5-10% in regular extracts.

HTFSE vs HCFSE. What Are the Benefits of HTFSE?

HTFSE stands for high terpene full spectrum extract while HCFSE means high cannabinoid full spectrum extract. The names basically speak for themselves - the former one aims to provide you with high terpene percentage as well as flavonoids and cannabinoids, focusing on their entourage effect, and the latter aims at high THCa percentage - all the way up to 99%. HTFSE usually comes out in liquid or saucelike structure and HCFSE is often called sugar or diamonds for its texture.

Does HTFSE Get You High?

HTFSE is a cannabis concentrate wich contains up to 50% THCa and when you dab it - heat it up and inhale it using a special rig - THCa is decarboxylated into psychoactive THC which will get you high.

HTFSE has been gaining popularity in recent years as people lose interest in getting blitzed but care more about the experience, the flavor, the potential benefits, and more. High terpene extracts are connoisseur’s choice and if you have not tried them yet - you are missing out.

How Is HTFSE Made?

HTFSE is extracted from cured, fresh or flash-frozen flower using a low boiling point solvent with the goal of keeping all the compounds - terpenes, flavonoids, cannabinoids and removing waxes, fats and lipids. This results in an extremely pure concentrate that has a wide range of terpenes which combined with flavonoids and cannabinoids offer a wide range of effects and potential benefits.

Terp Sauce typically has a high terpene count but it does not mean that all sauces can be considered HTFSE’s. For details, please refer to the packaging or ask your budtender.

How to Consume HTFSE?

The way to go here is using a dab rig, which allows you to manage the temperature. Higher temperatures used when you top off a bowl of flower or bake your HTFSE sauce into edibles may ruin the precious terpenes, which is the main focus of the extract.

There are also HTFSE sauce cartridges or high terpene extract cartridges that are ready to use with the help of a vape pen.

Next time you visit your favorite local dispensary, expand your horizons and give HTFSE a try!
