The 2016’s anniversary Super Bowl 50 took place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, where Denver Broncos took on Carolina Panthers. The game still holds the record of being the most watched program on CBS with almost 112 million viewers. The cost of airtime for ads was on par - $5 million for a 30-second commercial. The live audience of the game included 71,088 people. The half time entertainment included Coldplay, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars. And one of the reason we decided to look back at Super Bowl L is that our beloved Denver Broncos became the champions that year, beating the Panthers 24-10. The fact that still keeps our hearts warm.

In 2017, the Super Bowl was won by the Patriots, who have a serious chance to win this year’s trophy as well. Despite the fact that the Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady played injured against the Jaguars in the AFC championship game, he will lead his team in their 10th Super Bowl appearance. 8th in this century with Brady having won 5 of them.

The opposing team this year will be the underdogs – the Philadelphia Eagles, who only have two Super Bowl appearances, with no wins so far.

The average price for tickets this year is around $5,700, which is higher than last year. More expensive tickets go for $20,000 and more. It’s nearly impossible to get tickets at face value – which starts at about $950 – even for the fans of participating teams. The lottery system was discontinued last year and the tickets will be sold through various services like Stubhub, Ticketmaster, which will bump their original price to up to 6 times.

How to watch the Super Bowl?

This year’s Big Game will be shown on NBC. The stream will be available on the NBC Sports app and website or the Yahoo! Sports app using Verizon.
